Q&A with Charmza:

Are there any SA female writers you admire & who?

I admire Dr Gcina Mhlophe because she has managed to plant the love and existence of storytelling in South Africa throughout a century. Her writing is able to ignite the love for stories across communities. She has a nature that is generous with information and a spirit that rekindles readers and audience of her work.

What did it feel like writing about the losses of women and children in your mother tongue and your borrowed language for this campaign and anthology?
