Hope Netshivhambe
Hope Netshivhambe is an international storyteller born in Venda. She holds a Marketing diploma and a certificate in Radio and TV Presenting. Hope has performed across 8 of the 9 South African provinces, gracing venues such as the South African State Theatre, the Market Theatre, and Artscape, to name a few. She has appeared on platforms including Daily Thetha, Newsroom Afrika, Massiv Metro, Khaya FM, Impact Radio, Good Hope, Phalaphala, and Univern FM. Her work has been published in Odd Magazine, Poetic Egalitarianism Anthology, Not a Single Story Arts Exhibition tabloid newspaper, and in the Avbob Poetry Competition.
Hope was a Grand Finalist in the 2016/2017 Tshwane Speak Out Loud slam and took 3rd place in the 2019 youth slam. She has also travelled with Radioactive to an annual festival in Malawi. She is part of #WEAREDYINGHERE, an award-winning production that addresses gender-based violence directed by Sipokazi Jonas. Hope is a speaker for the Leadership 2020: I Was Born to Speak program, an initiative by DJ Sbu. She strongly believes in the power of words and is convinced that the world, as we know it, revolves around stories. Hope lives by her self-coined mantra, “Do what you came for,” a phrase that speaks to purpose.
